Celebrating Diwali at the College of Europe in Natolin

Diwali, also known as Divali or Deepawali, is a major festival celebrated over five days in many parts of India by people of different faiths including many Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Muslims and some Buddhists. It is sometimes referred to as “the festival of lights”.

The students of the College of Europe in Natolin celebrated Diwali on Saturday, 6 November 2021. They had the opportunity of enjoying a show of one hour with a garba dance through which they discovered the folkloric culture of India and a Kathak dancer which is a traditional Indian ballet. Emphasis was made on the fact that every individual has a Light within us. We should be aware of this inner Light in order to shine and illuminate the world and that is why Indians lit à lamp on Diwali.
