PolandOn Wednesday 14 June 2017, the College of Europe Natolin campus held the Closing Ceremony for the John Maynard Keynes Promotion 2016-2017.
After the European Anthem performed by the Natolin Choir, the ceremony began with a welcome speech by the Vice-Rector, Ms Ewa OŚNIECKA-TAMECKA, and a closing address by the Rector, Professor Dr Dr Jörg MONAR.
The keynote speech titled "Peace and reconciliation as a way of rebuilding" was delivered by our special guest Madam President Atifete JAHJAGA who served as the fourth—and the first female—President of Kosovo. Her full biography can be found here.
This year, the following prizes were awarded to the best Natolin students of the John Maynard Keynes Promotion 2016-2017:
- Best students (ex-aequo) of the Promotion: Ms Julie PERAIN (FR), Ms Morgane QUEMENER (FR), Ms Elizabete VIZGUNOVA (LV)
- Best student of the major EU Public Affairs and Policies: Ms Katie TREADWELL (UK)
- Best student of the major The EU as a Global Actor: Ms Morgane QUEMENER (FR)
- Best students (ex-aequo) of the major European History and Civilization: Mr Francis MASSON (FR) & Mr Radosław SZYMANSKI (PL)
- Best students (ex-aequo) of the major EU Neighbours and the European Neighbourhood Policy: Ms Julie PERAIN (FR) & Ms Elizabete VIZGUNOVA (LV)
- Best students (ex-aequo) in the framework of the activities of the European Civilization Chair: Mr Francis MASSON (FR) & Mr Radosław SZYMANSKI (PL)
- Best students (ex aequo) in the framework of the activities of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair: Ms Isabell BURMESTER (DE) & Mr Gabriele TALLONE (IT)
- Prize of the "Dipartimento Italiano Politiche Europee della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri" for the best Italian students: Mr Gabriele TALLONE (IT)
- Transparency International EU Prize for the best Master's thesis on the European Union's role in anti-corruption efforts/transparency, integrity and accountability of the EU's Institutions: Mr Marian CEPOI (MD)
- UNU-CRIS Prize for the best Master's thesis on the EU and other world regions: Ms Oleksandra ZMIYENKO (PL/UA)
The Closing Ceremony ended with an outstanding performance of the Natolin Choir, followed by a family picture and a farewell reception at the Natolin Palace and Gardens.
