The Opening Ceremony of the academic year 2016-2017 at the Natolin campus of the College of Europe took place in the Auditorium Copernicus and at the Natolin Palace and Gardens on Wednesday 26 October 2016. The event was live-streamed on the College of Europe website.

Dr Jacek SARYUSZ-WOLSKI, Member of the European Parliament and Chairman of the Executive Board of the Natolin campus, introduced the guest of honour, Mrs Ivanna KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. After the opening address of Mrs KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE, Mrs Ewa OŚNIECKA-TAMECKA, Vice-Rector of the College of Europe, recalled John Maynard Keynes, Patron of the Promotion 2016-2017.

The end of the ceremony was greeted by the Natolin Choir singing the College Anthem, which was followed by a standing lunch at the Natolin Palace.

About the speaker:
Mrs Ivanna KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE is the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. Prior to becoming a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Mrs KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE was at the head of NGOs promoting the development of democracy and prosperity in Ukraine ("Yalta European Strategy", "Open Ukraine Foundation"). Vice Prime Minister KLYMPUSH-TSINTSADZE is also co-editor of the book: "Black Sea Region: Cooperation and Security Building".
