On 19 April 2024, the College of Europe in Natolin hosted Mr Xavier ESPOT ZAMORA, Prime Minister of Andorra during an event co-organized with the Natolin students from Andorra. Mr ESPOT ZAMORA delivered a lecture titled "Andorra: global challenges, local opportunities".
Mr Xavier ESPOT ZAMORA is the eighth Head of Government of the Principality of Andorra. Born in 1979 in Escaldes-Engordany, he holds a Master's Degree in Law from the Superior School of Business Administration and Management (ESADE) and a degree in Humanities from the Ramon Llull University of Barcelona. He began his political career in November 2011, as Secretary of State for Justice and the Interior. In July 2012 he was appointed Minister of Justice and Home Affairs and in 2016 he also assumed the portfolio of Social Affairs.
In April 2019 he led the candidacy of the Democrats for Andorra in the general elections and his victory made him, at the age of 39, the youngest Head of Government in the history of Andorra. On 15 May 2023, he was sworn in again as Head of Government of Andorra after the absolute majority obtained by the Democrats in the general election.
