High-Level Lecture by Deputy Minister BOLESTA: "Europe’s Climate Future: A Polish Perspective form the Presidency Frontlines"
The Climate and Energy Transition Nest of the College of Europe in Natolin had the honour of hosting a high-level lecture by Mr Krzystof BOLESTA, Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment of Poland, titled "Europe’s Climate Future: A Polish Perspective form the Presidency Frontlines".
Drawing on his extensive experience, Minister BOLESTA discussed Poland’s role in shaping the green agenda, the complexities of climate governance, and the future trajectory of EU environmental policy. The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, during which students focused their questions on the recent Energy Council meeting held in Warsaw.
About the speaker:
Mr Krzystof BOLESTA is the Secretary of State (Deputy Minister) in the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment. He has been an appointed official of the European Commission, where he worked from 2004 to 2012 and from 2020 to 2024. From 2000 to 2004, he supported the accession negotiations and Poland's adaptation to EU requirements in the areas of 'energy' and 'research and development'.
Mr BOLESTA served as an advisor to the President COP19 (United Nations Climate Change Conference). Moreover, he co-founded the NGO, the Foundation for the Promotion of Electric Vehicles, where he served as Vice-President from 2018 to 2020. In 2014, the President of the Republic of Poland awarded him the Silver Cross for services to strengthen and develop European integration.
