On 29th November 2023, the Languages and Intercultural Dialogue Office at the College of Europe in Natolin offered a short intensive course aimed at preparing participants for everyday situations that required competencies in the Ukrainian language and culture. The course was based on a flipped methodology of cultural-linguistic education, combining linguistic elements with cultural context and focusing on Ukrainian culture, history, and contemporary life.
The course comprised 7 days of online assignments followed by a 2-hour on-site workshop. Dr. Wojciech SOSNOWSKI was responsible for the online component, while Dr. Maciej JASKOT, both language professors at Natolin, conducted the on-site session.
During the online phase on MS Teams, preceding the on-site session, students received materials such as vocabulary, quizzes in English about Ukraine, grammar structures, and pronunciation tips. The on-site segment emphasized communication tasks, role-playing, and other activities that required reflective thinking.
