International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at Natolin

On 25 November 2021, the students and staff of the College of Europe in Natolin, on the initiative of the student Society Acting for Gender Equality (SAGE), joined the call led by the United Nations on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This year's theme was "Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!". The United Nations selected the orange colour to represent a brighter future free of violence against women.

The power of symbols and images was the method the Natolin students chose to raise awareness about this burning issue. Orange ribbons were distributed around the campus. Moreover, the SAGE Society organised a series of activities, such as a communication campaign on SAGE's Instagram account, discussing i.a. ten practical ways to help end the violence against women. A photo exhibition was organised, featuring pictures submitted by students themselves and an additional selection of external photos on the theme of symbols in protests concerning violence against women worldwide. The SAGE Society is also considering following up on this topic and organising an expert discussion in the second semester.
