Italian National Day 2022 at Natolin

On Friday, 18 March 2022, the Italian students of the College of Europe in Natolin organised various activities related to the "Bel Paese".

The Italian National Day began with "Andante Lento", a photography exhibition depicting the most characteristic Italian landscapes, exposed in Włodkowic and Retinger students' residences. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in Warsaw.

The day continued with several installations on the Italian language and poetry. Moreover, two films were screened during the week: Comizi d'amore - to introduce the students to the figure of the artist Pier Paolo Pasolini - and L'isola delle Rose - an incredible story set in Italy in the 60s. In the afternoon, Ms Donatella BALDINI - director of the Italian Institute of Culture - moderated the conference Pasolini 2022: The Living Thought of a Poet with prof. Davide LUGLIO - professor of modern and contemporary Italian literature at the Paris-Sorbonne University - and prof. Ara H. MERJIAN - professor of Italian Studies at New York University.

The Natolin Restaurant and Italian students ensured that dinner on campus reflected an authentic Italian atmosphere, with culinary delicacies and folkloristic decors.

The Italian National Day then moved to Auditorium Copernicus with the exceptional participation of Rector Federica MOGHERINI and the Italian Ambassador to Poland, H.E. Aldo AMATI. Afterwards, the students were offered a wine tasting experience in Retinger’s residence hall.

The Italian students and the Natolin Community warmly thank the supporting institutions, the staff, the private sponsors, and those who made this national day unforgettable. Please find a selection of pictures through our Flickr account below:
