On 20 April 2018, the Italian students of the College of Europe in Natolin celebrated the Italian National Day with the rest of the campus. Firstly, in partnership with the Natolin Human Rights Society, the Italian group organized a conference entitled "From Riace to Brussels: A Multi-Level Perspective on Migration Policy". On this occasion, three speakers honoured us with their presence: H.E. Alessandro DE PEDYS, Ambassador of Italy to Poland, Mrs Elly SCHLEIN, MEP of the Socialists and Democrats, and Mr Domenico LUCANO, the Mayor of Riace (Calabria, Italy), who elaborated an integration model for migrants and was named as one of the most influential world leaders in the American magazine "Fortune".
After the conference, a typical Italian Aperitivo sponsored by Bachetti Food was organized at the Natolin campus. The company provided Italian specialties especially from Ascoli Piceno area in the centre of Italy. After the dinner, Mrs Luisa CICIRIELLO, Italian Soprano, performed on stage together with the Polish pianist Mr Artur SŁOTWIŃSKI. The Natolin Choir also gave a performance in Italian signing several well-known Italian songs and giving a short comic show. In the evening, all the guests were invited to a wine degustation, which was sponsored by La Castellana and Gambero Rosso.
Another two Italian brands sponsored the distinctive traditional meals served by the Natolin Restaurant: Mutti and La Cascina. Natolin students and staff could enjoy on that day the real Italian Lasagne, Meatballs with tomato sauce, Arancini, Aubergine Parmigiana and Tiramisu.
