On 30 January 2023, the Natolin Academy of Migration organised its second event of this semester, welcoming representatives of UNHCR Geneva and UNHCR Poland to campus, for a lecture on the role of technology in assisting the resolution of the refugee crisis.
With the advances in technology, the question scrutinised was: to what extent has the humanitarian community explored new ways of working to provide assistance to those in need, and how has the UN system evolved to more closely partner with governments and the private sector?
Students were invited to a discussion with two senior representatives from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees regarding the response to the Ukraine emergency: Mr Kevin ALLEN, UNHCR Representative to Poland, and Mr Hans BARITT, UNHCR Controller, Geneva.
