The Capacity Building Office of the College of Europe in Natolin was honoured to organise a workshop titled: "Diplomatic Writing" with Ambassador Thomas MAYR-HARTING, Visiting professor, European Interdisciplinary Studies Department at Natolin.
The aim of the workshop was to introduce interested students to various diplomatic writing techniques. Particular attention was paid to the structure and characteristics of a diplomatic report, as well as to specific forms of diplomatic correspondence, such as "non-papers", requests for instruction or aides-mémoires, based on real life examples.
Students also had the opportunity of practicing these techniques, e.g. by producing draft minutes of a diplomatic meeting.
