On 11 April 2023, the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA) hosted an online teaser event, wherein all interested individuals could participate (via prior registration). The topic of the teaser event was "How to Detect Disinformation", and the event featured the intervention of Mr Givi GIGITASHVILI - Digital Researcher at the Atlantic Council's DFRLab.
During this session, Mr GIGITASHVILI discussed open-source investigation tools and techniques for verifying authenticity and reliability of digital content. Further, participants learned about the most effective tools for analyzing content and conversations on social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook as well as messaging app Telegram. They also gained introductory knowledge on various geolocation and website forensics tools.
The event took place online, and lasting approximately 60-90mins.
