Workshop sessions on "Communicating Statecraft" with Dr Sławomir DĘBSKI

The Practice and Apply Lab Team initiated a series of workshop sessions titled "Communicating Statecraft" delivered by Dr Sławomir DĘBSKI, Visiting Professor at the College of Europe in Natolin.

Communicating statecraft refers to the strategic use of communication by states or their representatives to achieve specific political, diplomatic, or security objectives. It is closely tied to diplomacy, international relations, and the management of a nation's foreign and domestic policies through deliberate messaging and narrative-building. 

 

About the Moderator:

Dr Sławomir DĘBSKI, alongside Professor Marek Aleksander CICHOCKI, teaches at the College of Europe in Natolin a masterclass titled “Cold War Strategies from the Central Eastern Europe Perspective”. The course aims to provide a better understanding of the current debates on the entry into the New/Second Cold War and of the historical context of the beginnings and evolution of the old Cold War.

Dr DĘBSKI is a foreign policy expert and strategist with a proven track record of advising Poland's governments since 2000. He is a team leader, institution builder, and interagency communication expert known for his extensive experience and contributions to international relations. He served as Director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs from 2007 – 2010, 2016 – 2021 and 2021 – 2024. He also served as Director of the Centre of Polish-Russian Dialogue and Understanding from 2011 – 2016. He also was head of the PISM Research Office from 2002 – 2007.
