Academic Assistants in the Department of European Interdisciplinary Studies – College of Europe in Natolin
The College of Europe in Natolin, Warsaw, is seeking applications for the position of Academic Assistants in the European Interdisciplinary Studies Department starting from July 2026.
About the College of Europe in Natolin:
The College of Europe, established on the initiative of the Hague Congress, dates back to 1949 and is the oldest postgraduate institute of European studies. After the end of the Cold War, in 1992 the College of Europe in Natolin began its mission to prepare students to think beyond disciplinary boundaries, beyond preconceptions, and to encourage them to build bridges and embrace a wider perspective on Europe.
Today, the College of Europe in Natolin looks at Europe and its complex neighbourhoods, both facing major external and internal challenges, of which security is a prime example.
Our advanced Master of Arts in European Interdisciplinary Studies and the new European Security and Strategy study track offers students a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of Europe’s internal and external dimensions and equips them with knowledge and skills necessary to address some of the most pressing contemporary global challenges.
About the job
As an Academic Assistant at the College of Europe in Natolin, you will be part of a dynamic team of the European Interdisciplinary Studies Department and work with distinguished academics and professionals, and a diverse, international student body.
The main tasks include
- Providing academic support to students (e.g. giving tutorials, providing academic advice)
- Organizing and coordinating study visits, which include academic events, high-level lectures, etc.
- Assisting in the implementation of courses and supporting professors in their teaching activities
- Participation in preselection and interviews of prospective students
What we look for
- Degree in political science, history, law, economics, international relations, European studies, security studies, or similar
- A mention of "very good" at Master’s level (at least 15 out of 20 or equivalent); a PhD is considered an advantage
- Experience in studying or working in an international environment and an interdisciplinary profile
- Excellent written and oral command of English. A good command of French is considered a significant advantage
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High measure of flexibility and the ability to prioritize and organize one’s work and to participate in work-related trips, also abroad (working hours can include evenings or weekends)
- Keen interest in learning and teaching
- Previous College of Europe experience is an advantage, but it is not a precondition.
