On 3 September 2018, Mr Nic VAN DER MARLIERE, General Representative of the Government of Flanders in the UK and Ireland, hosted around 80 alumni representing 21 different promotions at Flanders House in London. 

The General Representative highlighted the strong links between the College of Europe and Flanders, and warmly welcomed the alumni to the gathering. Rector Jörg MONAR spoke of the challenges facing Europe. He also highlighted the key role alumni can play in helping the College of Europe find good potential College applicants. The keynote speech was delivered by Mr Stephen KINNOCK MP (Charles IV promotion), whose thoughts on the Brexit process were enlightening and provocative. After the speeches the alumni were spoiled with typical Belgian wines and beers, as well as a walking dinner consisting of Belgian speciality foods.

The event was co-organized by Flanders House in London, the College of Europe and the Alumni Association of the College of Europe
