On Friday 25 September a lecture was given to the Natolin students by Mr Štefan Füle, Czech Minister for the European Affairs.

Štefan Füle, Minister for European Affairs was born on 24 May 1962 in Sokolov.

Education: 1988: UN disarmament study programme

1981-1986: State Institute for International Relations in Moscow

1980-1981: Faculty of Philosophy, Charles University

Employment and public activity:

2009-present: The Minister for the European Affairs

2005-2009: Ambassador and Head of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to NATO.

2003-2005: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

2001-2002: First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic.

1998-2001: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Lithuania (2000-2001 Ambassador of the NATO Contact Embassy in Lithuania).

1996-1998: Director of the Department of Defence Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

1995-1996: Director of the UN Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

1994-1995: Delegate and Representative pro tem of the Czech Republic to the UN Security Council.

1990-1995: First Secretary of the Permanent Representation of the CSFR to the UN in New York.

1987-1990: Official of the UN Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Holder of: - The Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas, 3rd class (2002).

- The Cross of Honour of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, 1st class (2002).
