On 14 January 2016 the College of Europe and Transparency International EU hosted the event: “What are the challenges of Transparency and Accountability for EU Institutions?”.
The seminar was designed to improve students’ understanding of EU level accountability mechanisms and to promote active civic participation in monitoring the integrity of EU institutions and the decision-making processes.
The event started with an opening plenary session in the morning, where general themes of accountability, transparency and civic participation have been highlighted. Interactive workshops followed and touched on three thematic areas: the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), the integrity of eurozone institutions, and conflicts of interest.
Please find here the link to the page of the event on TI-EU website with all the powerpoints used by our guests during the day.
