The opening ceremony of the academic year of the College of Europe, Bruges campus, took place on 24 September 1990.
Richard VON WEIZSACKER , President of the Federal Republic of Germany, delivered the opening address to the students of the Hans & Sophie SCHOLL Promotion, professors, staff and invited guests of the College of Europe.
