On 10 October 2022, the students of the David Sassoli Promotion gathered in the Auditorium Copernicus to follow the live debate for the Student Representatives at the College of Europe in Natolin. The three confirmed lists were "How I Met Your EU Commissioner", "Sassoli Reps" and "Stronger Together."
The election debate began with an introduction by the representatives of the Student Affairs and Professional Development Office, and then the candidates for General Coordinator took the stage to speak on behalf of their board members to introduce themselves and their vision statement. This was followed by all candidates being invited to answer a series of questions directed both individually and collectively by their fellow classmates, moderated by Mr Killian BOURGOIS.
Candidates passionately defended their visions and shared their views on issues related to academic organization, sports and cultural activities, mental health, and their suitability and qualifications to represent the community in general.
Voting for the election of Student Representatives occurred on 11 October 2022, under the conscientious monitoring of election observers - Mr Ioannis AMPATZIDIS, Mr Valeriu TURCANU, Mr Alexis KONTOGHIANNIS and Ms Salomé COHEN - by physical ballot during mealtimes of the day.
After the first round of elections, the total number of votes cast was 126, and “Sassoli Reps” and “Stronger Together” with 44 equal votes were leading the list, however, as a simple majority of the votes cast (i.e. 50% +1) was not reached, the second round of elections was organized during the dinner, which concluded with the victory of “Sassoli Reps” with 58 votes out of 115.
