The High-Level Policy Dialogue is a joint initiative of the College of Europe European Economic Studies Department and the School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute. It seeks to foster communication between academics and policymakers by providing a forum for both to share their respective expertise and by this means, to encourage collaboration between the worlds of academia and policy.
The first High-Level Policy Dialogue on The New EU Multi-Annual Financial Framework took place on 30th November 2017.
The debate at the first Policy Dialogue was sparked by the presentation of two papers:
- The EU’s finances: can the economically desirable and the politically feasible be reconcilable? by Iain Begg, European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science
- Reform towards a relevant EU budget, by Jorge Nunez Ferrer, Senior Research Fellow, CEPS, Roberto Musmeci, Research Assistant, CEPS, and Marta Pilati, Research Intern, CEPS.
