Research Assistant
The College of Europe, Natolin Campus (Warsaw) is seeking applications for the position of a full-time research assistant with a starting date of January 2013 at the latest. The post is within the framework of the newly created “European Neighbourhood Policy Chair”.
We are looking for graduates with:
- A Master’s degree, preferably in International Relations and/or Political Science (status of Phd candidate will be an asset);
- a demonstrated interest in the field of European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and EU foreign policy making and proven track record of research in the same fields;
- a proven experience in participating in conferences, seminars, workshops etc.;
- a general interest in academic research and developing projects;
- a very good command of English and French (good knowledge of other languages spoken in the European neighbourhood desirable);
- analytical thinking, judgement and problem solving skills;
- an ability to make presentations and draft clearly and precisely in English and/or in French;
- good organizational skills;
- ICT skills and the ability to use current IT tools;
- an ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously, a sense of responsibility and initiative, results-orientation, and a sense for continuous improvement;
- integrity, loyalty and conscience, discretion, and respect for diversity.
Tasks include:
Under the supervision of the Chairholder, the post-holder will be responsible for
- providing academic and organizational support for the Chair;
- providing academic support for students undertaking Master Thesis related to the ENP;
- undertaking research activities including publications; participation in conferences;
- contribution to the organization of conferences and seminars.
Contributing to the implementation of the objectives of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair, the post-holder will facilitate internal communication, foster co-operation, team spirit and a harmonious working environment with a view to increasing efficiency.
