Jacek SARYUSZ-WOLSKI (1996-1999)

Dr SARYUSZ-WOLSKI has been the Chairman of College of Europe Natolin Campus since 2004.

Dr SARYUSZ-WOLSKI studied at the University of Łódź, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Economics, and at the Centre Europeen Universitaire, Universite de Nancy (France). He worked as Assistant and Associate Professor at the Institute of Economics of University of Łódź, and as professor of European integration at the Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, College of Europe (Natolin) and at the University of Łódź. In his academic career he held positions of the Vice-Rector at the College of Europe Natolin Campus, Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Łódź and Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. Dr SARYUSZ-WOLSKI also seated on boards of the following think tanks: Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA), Polish Institute for International Affairs (as Vice-President), Friends of Europe, and European Policy Centre.

Dr SARYUSZ-WOLSKI held several governmental positions including European Affairs Minister negotiating Polish association and membership in the EU, Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister in the periods 1991-96 and 1999-2001.

Dr SARYUSZ-WOLSKI has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2014, during which period he held the positions of Vice-President of the European Parliament and Chairman of EP Committee on Foreign Affairs. He was also Vice-President of the European People's Party and of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, as well as Chairman of EPP Group in the Parliamentary Assembly of Eastern Partnership EURONEST.
