On 2-4 April, the College of Europe, Natolin campus hosts the 9th edition of the European Diplomatic Programme.
The European Diplomatic Programme was created in 1999 with a view to training young diplomats from all member states of the EU at the European level and thus contributing to the emergence of a European foreign policy culture.
Every year, some sixty participants deepen their knowledge of EU affairs via a programme composed of five modules and organized in member state capitals across the EU, as well as in Brussels.
The central theme of the 9th edition (2008-2009) of the programme is “Neighbourhood policy and energy policy: two priority challenges for the European Union.”
The 4th module of the EDP is organised by the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna and the Clingendael Institute of International Relations in the Hague.
A panel discussion with the participation of academic experts and high national officials and devoted to the question of energy security in the context of the EU’s neighbourhood strategies will open the programme on 2 April. Participants will then engage in a negotiation game being a practical exercise of EU policy formation in the neighbourhood/energy policy fields.
