STUDENT EVENT // Conference on the Future of Europe – Launch of a New Europe, or Just Another Disappointment?

Date

Thursday 14.01.21 20:00

The cross-campus Young European Federalists (JEF) student group invites you to an online discussion event about the Conference on the Future of Europe. Announced by Ursula von der Leyen as a grand debate about the EU's role and competences, the launch of the initiative has been dragging on due to the COVID pandemic and disagreements on who should preside the Conference.

The pandemic has given heightened urgency to discussions on the future of Europe. Can the Conference live up to the high expectations? What form will it take? Who will be able to give their input? How will the conclusions of the Conference be followed up on?

The panel will feature a political figure involved with the Conference, an academic, and a figure representing federalist viewpoints. The speaker list will be updated on this event page in due course. The event is open for all College of Europe students, as well as for the wider public.

All participants are asked to register for the event using the form below by midnight on 12 January at the latest. The event will take place via Zoom, and the connection details will be sent to the registered participants by email before the event.
