On 11 February 2011, in Yuste, Spain, the President of the Administrative Council of the College of Europe, Mr Íñigo Méndez de Vigo, the Rector, Mr Paul Demaret, the Director of the Madariaga College of Europe Foundation, Mr Pierre Defraigne, attended the ceremony where the “Charles V European Award” of the European Academy of the Yuste Foundation was presented by Prince Felipe of Spain to Mr Javier Solana, former High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union. The College of Europe had supported the nomination of Mr Javier Solana for this Award.
