Closing Seminar of the European Fund for the Balkans Fellowship Programme

From 24 to 28 November 2018, the College of Europe Development Office contributed to the Closing Seminar of the European Fund for the Balkans Fellowship Programme in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Fellowship Programme is celebrating its 10th edition and the College of Europe is proud to have been cooperating with the European Fund for the Balkans since the inception of the Programme.

The Fellowship Programme provides 20 scholarships for civil servants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. The Fellows spend three months in different countries of the European Union, where they gain work experience in federal or state government agencies. Before returning to their national administrations, the fellows receive tailor-made training sessions on how to best process the lessons learned and incorporate them in their daily jobs in their home countries. They also attend a session on how the EU tackles interest representation and how this could be a model for interest representation in the Balkan countries.
