The College of Europe regrets to announce the passing away of Professor Hjalte RASMUSSEN, who gained special notoriety for publishing in 1986 “On Law and Policy in the European Court of Justice”, a book critical of the role taken by the European Court of Justice. This is why, soon after, the College invited him to teach a seminar on “Constitutional Law Making by the Judiciary as a Generator of Societal Change” in the European Law Programme. He taught that seminar from 1987 till 1993.
