Conference talk with Commissioner for Justice Didier REYNDERS on the First Rule of Law Report: a new start for the promotion of EU values

Commissioner for Justice Didier REYNDERS presented the first-ever annual Rule of Law. This report maps out the rule of law situation in all the member states. It is based on four factors: the justice systems, the media freedom, the check and balances, and the fight against corruption. This exercise falls under the Commission’s Rule of Law Mechanism. It aims to create a European/national debate about the European institutions and the rights of the European citizens. 

The event, organised by the European Legal Studies Department, was open to all students and was livestreamed. The recordings of the event can be found on the College of Europe youtube channel.
