Diplomatic Training and Executive Training in Lima

The College of Europe Development Office traveled to Lima (Peru) to organize a series of activities on EU-Latin American relations as part of the EU-funded project "Public Diplomacy in Brazil and Latin America".

From Monday 8 to Friday 12 May 2017 a Diplomatic Training on "Understanding the European Union and EU-Peru Relations" was organized for 30 students of the Academia Diplomática Javier Pérez de Cuéllar in Lima.

On Friday 12 May, an Executive Training on the "Current Challenges for Europe and Perspectives for EU-Latin American Relations" was delivered by a College of Europe professor for members of the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the Peruvian Congress. In addition, and on the occasion of Europe’s Day (May 9), Mr Pierre DEFRAIGNE, Honorary Director-General of the European Commission, delivered a keynote speech in front of a high-level audience, including the President of the Republic of Peru, Mr Pedro Pablo KUCZYNSKI.

Throughout the week, fruitful exchanges of opinions and debates took place between the trainers mobilized by the College of Europe and the Peruvian political, diplomatic and academic corps.

The activities in Peru closed the 2017 edition of the series of Diplomatic and Executive Training that the College of Europe Development Office organized in several countries in Latin America, including Argentina (27-31 March 2017), Brazil and Colombia (3-7 April 2017). We are already working on the activities for 2018!
