On 27-28 June 2019, Dr Olivier LEWIS participated in a workshop on small states in European security at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge.

About 25 experts came from all over Europe (Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, The Netherlands, Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria, etc.) to present their research and prepare joint publications. Topics covered included strategic cultures, two-level games and geopolitics.

Dr LEWIS presented his research on the causes of Luxembourgian military, police and intelligence cooperation. The workshop ended with a keynote speech by Ambassador Tomáš SZUNYOG, Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union. The UACES supported the event via its Small Grants scheme.
