Dr Roxana BARBULESCU was interviewed by the national Slovak newspaper "Pravda" on the migration and humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean

Dr Roxana BARBULESCU, Post-doctoral Research Fellow of the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe, was interviewed on the migration and humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean by the national Slovak newspaper Pravda.

Dr BARBULESCU talked about the EU leadership in managing migration in the Southern neighbourhood and the role of human rights and access to asylum in the new European Agenda on Migration. She stressed that this is a crisis that Southern European states cannot solve alone, rather the ongoing crisis in the Mediterranean affects and depends on common solutions and commitments of all member states. In particular, Central and Eastern European states have their own traditions and histories of migration and should use this opportunity wisely to define the new direction in EU’s migration policy.
