From 7 to 10 April 2014 the College of Europe welcomed 24 officials from the League of Arab States secretariat in Cairo for a training on the functioning of the European Union and EU-Arab relations called El-Hiwar (meaning “dialogue” in Arabic).
The training took place in Brussels and included visits to the European Parliament, Council of the EU and the European External Action Service.
Through various meetings with officials of the European institutions, the participants had the chance to exchange opinions and views on topics such as Human Rights and Electoral Observation, Security and Humanitarian Assistance and Energy Efficiency and Climate Change.
