EU-funded project on EU-China Competition Cooperation

From May 2016 to November 2017, the College of Europe Development Office managed the EU-funded project "EU-China Competition Cooperation", in the framework of FWC COM 2011 – Lot 1. The project aimed at deepening the ongoing bilateral competition policy coordination between the EU and China, with an overall objective to facilitate competition law convergence. The project was implemented by the College of Europe and AETS, in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to China and DG COMP. The beneficiaries of most project activities were officials from the three Anti-Monopoly Agencies in China.

The scope of the project was three-fold, namely:

  • Organization of two Competition Summer Schools for Chinese officials, in 2016 and 2017 at the premises of the College of Europe;
  • Organization of three Competition Weeks in China in October 2016, March 2017 and October 2017, facilitating the exchange between EU officials and Chinese ones;
  • Implementation of the Visitors Programme, taking place at the European Commission, DG COMP, from October 2016 until February 2018.
