EU scheme for young professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The College of Europe Development Office is pleased to announce that it is implementing a capacity building training programme for civil servants from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) taking place in early November and December 2020 and in late spring 2021.

The EU Scheme for Young Professionals in BiH represents the continuation of reform initiatives aimed at building the capacity of civil servants that was initiated within the framework of a regional programme for the Western Balkans. The College of Europe had been involved in the 2018 and 2019 editions of that regional programme.

The specific objectives of the programme are:

  • to build the professional capacity of civil servants and instil their commitment to EU-oriented civil service through their increased knowledge and understanding of the EU accession process;
  • to foster mutual connections and mobility between these agents of change through facilitating an intra-BiH exchange programme and a Western Balkans mobility scheme.

In total, 25 young civil servants from Bosnia and Herzegovina public administration institutions of different levels are participating in this five-week-long tailor-made executive education programme managed by the College of Europe. It covers key public administration areas and the EU integration process: four weeks of online training sessions/ workshops/ key note speeches and panel debates in November-December 2020 will be followed by a one-week study visit to Brussels and Bruges in late spring 2021.

The College of Europe is grateful for the cooperation of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Directorate for European Integration (DEI) of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Public Administration Reform Coordinator’s Office (PARCO) and the British Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina and their trust in the College of Europe to design and implement this training course.

We wish the participans a very fruitful experience!
