EU/ENP-related Jobs Project: Executive Programme in June and Closing Conference in October

From 16 to 20 June 2014, twenty-six participants from different European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries attended, at the College of Europe in Bruges, an Executive Programme which included in-depth training on the EU, the ENP, a one-day Training of Trainers (ToT) and study visits to the EU institutions. This advanced training course was delivered in the framework of the EU-funded project "ENP Regional Programme - Preparing Staff to EU/ENP-related Jobs", which has been developed since 2011. The project has implemented ten different modules on topics ranging from the EU institutions to EU trade or energy policies, among others. It has also included skills-based training courses such as ‘EU Project Management’ or ‘EU Negotiations’.

The participants that attended the Executive Programme were selected on the basis of their potential and commitment to become trainers in their countries; they had already attended one or more of the courses organized in the previous ten modules. On this occasion, they came back to the College in June to deepen their understanding of the EU and the European Neighbourhood Policy and to be trained as trainers on EU Affairs, so as to enable them to improve their skills as trainers and train others back in their countries, guaranteeing the sustainability and multiplying the impact of the project. To conclude the four-year project, a Closing Conference will take place on 7-8 October 2014 at the College of Europe, having as participants representatives of the EU institutions, the project national focal points from all the participant countries  - Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Ukraine - and the project team from the College of Europe Development Office. The Closing Conference will be the appropriate forum to take stock of the project achievements and to explore possibilities for future further collaboration.
