The College of Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Stephan Keukeleire as the first Chairholder of the newly created TOTAL Chair on EU Foreign Policy, which is based in the Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the Bruges campus.
The Chair is supported by TOTAL with the aim of stimulating research on the increasingly important but also challenged role of the European Union in world politics, as a global actor whose internal policies also have profound external implications and as a coordinator of foreign actions of its member states.
In addition, the Chairholder teaches courses on EU foreign policy in Bruges and on the Natolin campus and organises conferences and guest lectures. He is supported by a half-time research assistant.
Stephan Keukeleire is also Jean Monnet Professor at the Institute for International and European Policy at the University of Leuven and co-author of the widely used textbook "The Foreign Policy of the European Union".
