Global Leadership Seminar on "International Regimes for Global Warming: Political, Economic, and Legal Challenges"

Academic assistants from the College of Europe (Bruges & Natolin (Warsaw) campuses) participated in the 2009 Global Leadership Seminar on "International Regimes for Global Warming: Political, Economic, and Legal Challenges" from 21 to 25 September 2009 in Talloires, France.

The seminar brought together 35 graduate students and assistants from Tufts University, the University of St. Gallen, the National University of Singapore, Yonsei University and the College of Europe for a week of discussions and simulation exercises focused on the upcoming global conference on climate change in Copenhagen.

Prof. Dr. Raimund Bleischwitz, a professor at the College of Europe, gave a presentation highlighting the economic implications of global warming and climate change policy.

Mr Pierre Defraigne, a professor at the College of Europe and the executive director of the Madariaga – College of Europe Foundation, co-chaired a practitioner panel on "Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Countries as Global Investors".

The final part of the seminar encouraged interaction between participants and practitioners in the energy field.

Bruges campus assistants Mr Romain Galante, Ms Anne-Claire Marangoni, Ms Shannon Petry and Ms Nicole Täumel attended the seminar along with Natolin (Warsaw) campus colleagues Mr George-Dian Balan and Mr Jan Szczodrowski.
