Introductive Seminar on International Humanitarian Law (IHL)

The Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to the EU and the College of Europe Natolin (Warsaw) campus organized for the sixth time an Introductive Seminar on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) which took place at the College of Europe Natolin campus, from 27 until 29 March 2012.

Its aim was to familiarize students with the new and growing challenges the international community is confronted with in the domain of Humanitarian Protection.

In the framework of the College’s cooperation with the ICRC, and in the light of the most recent developments of the European Defense and Security Policy, Mr Stéphane KOLANOWSKI, ICRC Brussels Delegation to the EU and NATO, together with Professor Elzbieta MIKOS-SKUZA, Warsaw University, and other practitioners of law and EU affairs addressed issues related to the implementation of IHL by the European Union. This seminar was an excellent occasion to acquire an in-depth knowledge on the subject and talk with academics and practitioners from the International Red Cross.

The seminar was open to students (in their final year of studies) of Law and Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Diplomacy, European Studies, Journalism and other related fields, students of the College of Europe, as well as to students/researchers currently attending a postgraduate programme in the above fields.
