Meet our Intensive Seminar participants!

This summer 46 professionals from all around the world came to Bruges to attend the Intensive Seminar on the EU organized by the Development Office of the College of Europe.

The Intensive Seminar on the EU offers three formulas in order to cater for everyone’s needs. There is a Classic three-week formula for those who have little knowledge of the EU or wish to refresh the knowledge they acquired some years ago; a two-week Advanced formula for those who have substantial knowledge of EU affairs; and a Compact one-week programme for those with working experience in EU affairs but wishing to refresh their knowledge on specific European policies.

So let’s meet some of the participants who took part in this year’s 21st edition of the Seminar!

Meet Arunrung Phothong, a Thai minister counsellor working for the Thai embassy in Brussels. She is attending the Classic formula and finds the courses “enriching.”

Another participant from the Classic formula is Cristina. She has dual nationality, Swiss and Italian, and works in Bern for the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs as scientific advisor.

Árpad, also a participant of the Classic formula, is from Hungary and works there as a senior executive for the Hungarian National Police. He describes himself as “very lucky to be part of the 21st Intensive Seminar on the EU.”

Meet Inna, one of the participants from the Compact formula. With triple nationality – Russian, Ukrainian and Dutch – she is currently communication officer at the European Cement Association.

Joseph is one of the eight Maltese government officials who also took part in the Intensive Seminar. He is attending the Advanced course and found the course “well structured” and the lectures “brilliant.”

Last but not least in this (non-exhaustive) selection of participants, meet Nuno, joining us from Portugal where he is Director at an investment company. He is taking part in the Advanced formula and sees the Intensive Seminar on the EU as “an outstanding cultural experience.”

Now that you have met some of our participants, we hope that you would like to meet us next year for the 22nd Intensive Seminar on the EU. We would be happy to meet you!
