Mock MUN Simulation between the College of Europe and the Université Catholique de Louvain.

On Sunday 16 February, the College of Europe hosted a Model United Nations (MUN) mock simulation between the College of Europe MUN Team and the delegation of the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) – LouvainMUN.

The simulation reenacted discussions in the first committee of the General Assembly (DISEC) where the delegates had to address the hot topic of the ‘Militarization of the Arctic’. This mock simulation, which lasted for about four hours, was the last stage of the training that the MUN Team has been following in preparation for the upcoming MUN Conference in London (LiMUN) on February 21-23.

The College of Europe students in close cooperation with their LouvainMUN counterparts, engaged in a fruitful and enriching debate that even led to the voting and passing of a mini Resolution.

The event concluded with both delegations sharing Belgian chocolate and a group picture with the Bruges skyline as background.

The College MUN Team will be leaving for London next Thursday (20 February).

We wish them all the best!
