Mr Łukasz KRÓL at the Polish Press Agency's 100th Anniversary Conference

On 11 October 2018, the Polish Press Agency (PAP) hosted a conference to mark the hundredth anniversary of its founding. We are proud to announce that Mr Łukasz KRÓL, a staff member of the College of Europe in Natolin, was invited to give a talk at this conference.

Mr Łukasz KRÓL looked at how the world is currently transitioning from an era of print capitalism, where media innovations were driven by reader capital, to one of algorithmic capitalism, where advertiser capital predominates. He spoke about how the rise of algorithmic capitalism has created a completely new incentive structure within our media environment, and what this could mean for civic discourse and democracy.
