Natolin (Warsaw) campus – Study trips during the academic year 2011-2012

During the academic year 2011-2012, the students of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Promotion of the College of Europe Natolin (Warsaw) campus, participated in three study trips which are an integral part of the academic programme.

Istanbul was the destination for the first study visit, which took place between 23 and 27 October 2011. Over three days students participated in conferences at the Galatasaray University covering current political issues in Turkey, EU-Turkish relations and Turkish relations with its neighbouring countries. The study visit programme also included group visits to various think tanks and NGOs.

In the second semester, students from the Natolin campus went on two study visits: one group visited Brussels, Luxembourg and Bruges (12-16 March 2012), the second group visited Ukraine (11-17 March 2012).

The study visit programme for the Brussels/Luxembourg/Bruges trip addressed issues pertaining to the EU governance in times of the economic crisis (the Single Market and Governance in the EU majors) and global challenges for the EU (Global Actor major). During the trip, students from the Natolin (Warsaw) campus had the opportunity to visit the main European institutions, major Brussels think-tanks and lobby groups as well as the Bruges campus.

The second study visit, during the second semester, was organised in Kiev and Lviv for students studying the EU as a Regional Actor major. The academic programme included visits to the Ukrainian Parliament, the Delegation of the EU to Ukraine, NaUKMA University in Kiev and the UCU University in Lviv where the core issues in Ukrainian politics and economics as well as Ukraine-EU relations were discussed.
