New publication by Dr Cristian NITOIU: "British press attitudes towards the EU’s global presence: From the Russian-Georgian War to the 2009 Copenhagen Summit"

Dr Cristian NITOIU, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair at the Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe, recently published an article entitled: "British press attitudes towards the EU’s global presence: From the Russian-Georgian War to the 2009 Copenhagen Summit". The article was published in Comparative European Politics (7 July, 2014) and can be accessed here.

The article surveys the way in which British print media have presented the European Union’s global presence in the international arena by analyzing two case studies, reflecting two very distinctive areas of EU foreign policy: global climate change policy and the policy towards Russia. The analysis highlights that acting through the common framework of the EU, rather than unilaterally, was a strategy preferred by the British press.
