On 14-15 November 2019, Professor Jean-Pierre CASSARINO, Senior Research Fellow at the European Neighbourhood Policy Chair, took part in the annual Congress organized by the Academy of Law and Migration at the University of Viterbo.
The Academy gathers more than 300 scholars working on migration matters. Thanks to the generous financial support of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, its research and academic activities have grown dramatically leading to the creation of various research groups with high expertise.
On the occasion of the Congress, Professor CASSARINO was appointed coordinator of the "External Dimension" research group. Finally, Professor CASSARINO gave a presentation which focused on the new generation of labour migration schemes in Europe. He explained how the current temporariness of labour migrants’ recruitment policies severely jeopardizes labour migrants’ access to social and labour rights.
