Professor Richard BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI discusses the Polish Constitution with schoolchildren

On Friday 26 April 2019, Professor Richard BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI participated in the annual camp for talented schoolchildren organized by the Polish charity Krajowy Fundusz na Rzecz Dzieci ("The Countrywide Fund for Children") at Serock, near Warsaw.

Speaking about the Polish Constitution of 3 May 1791 – the first modern written constitution in Europe – he first introduced its origins and acclamation. He then led the group of students through the eloquent Polish prose of this notably brief document (3700 words). All present discussed the text’s significance. The Third of May is one of Poland’s two principal national holidays.
