Professor Richard BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI in Finland

The Chairholder of the European Civilization Chair, Professor Richard BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI, spoke this week at two leading Finnish universities. In the morning of 15 November 2016, he delivered a lecture at the University of Tampere to History students and staff on "Transforming the Polish Nation 1787-1797: Revolution, Insurrection, Partition". Later the same day he gave a talk on "Political Priorities and Career Opportunities in European Studies since the 1948 Hague Congress: Bruges – Florence – Natolin".

The following day, Professor BUTTERWICK-PAWLIKOWSKI visited the Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki, a centre of excellence in Eastern European area studies. He delivered a paper on "Catholicism and Enlightenment: Poland-Lithuania in European Context".
