Publication of the latest editions in the Natolin Best Master's Theses series

The Natolin (Warsaw) campus of the College of Europe is pleased to present the publication of the latest editions in its Best Master's Theses series. The three theses from the Havel Promotion (2012-2013) that were selected as the 'best of the best' represent the interdisciplinary nature of the study programme at Natolin and the diversity of thesis topics chosen by our students.

The thesis by Ms Iuliia VENGEROVYCH (UA) "International Responsibility for EU Military Operations: Who Guards the Guardian?" offers a sophisticated consideration of the thorny questions surrounding international rules and regimes for the responsibility and protection of armed forces and subsequently assesses and questions their applicability to EU military operations and deployments.

Mr Quincy CLOET's (BE) thesis "Jürgen Habermas and Andrew Moravcsik: a dialogue on european integration, the nation-state, democracy and identity" analyses and compares the contributions made by these scholars to our understanding of some of the most important facets involved in the construction of the European project and its evolution overtime.

The third of our best Master's theses was written by Mr Pedro Correa MARTÍN-ARROYO (ES): "‘Histoeuropeanisation’: Challenges and implications of (re)writing the history of europe ‘europeanly’, 1989-2015". This thesis attempts to apply the concept of Europeanisation to historical research and subsequently critically appraises the evolution of the study of European history and integration and considers the degrees to which EU institutions can rely upon and mobilise a sense of European identity.
