Rector Paul Demaret visited Moscow on 4 June within the framework of the partnership between the College of Europe and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO-University).
During his stay, Rector Paul Demaret met Ambassador Fernando Valenzuela, Head of the EU Delegation in Russia, and visited MGIMO, where he was received by Professor Anatoly V. Torkunov, Rector of MGIMO-University, Professor Mark L. Entin, Director of the European Studies Institute (ESI) and Professor Tamara V. Shashikhina, Deputy Director of ESI. He was also introduced to the history of MGIMO in its museum and had the opportunity to meet a group of students of the Institute, among other events.
Since 2006, the Development Office of the College of Europe has contributed to the setting up and the running of the ESI in partnership with MGIMO.
In this context, two Masters programmes in EU Law and EU Economy have been organised and are fully operational. An additional Masters in EU Policies and Politics has been added through a Tempus project.
