Student Conference: EU-China Relations in Climate Change, Environment, Sustainable Development and EU-China Youth Exchanges

Within the framework of the EU-China Youth Policy Dialogue 2012, a delegation, jointly organised by the European Institute for Asian Studies (EIAS) and the Chinese Institute for European Studies of China Academy of Social Sciences, visited the College of Europe on 20 March 20.

The EU-China Youth Policy Dialogue is a project funded by the European Commission.

For this occasion the College of Europe and the European Institute for Asian Studies jointly organised a conference with the aim to promote dialogue and to enhance understanding between participants to the EU-China Youth Policy Dialogue and students from the College of Europe.

Two students from the College of Europe and two participants from the EU-China Youth Policy Dialogue gave presentations on EU-China relations, looking at the issue of climate change and EU-China youth exchanges.

These interventions were followed by rich debates between the conference participants.

The day was concluded with a Chinese dinner in the city of Bruges.

The event proved to be a successful and fruitful academic and cultural exchange between the College of Europe and the European Institute for Asian Studies.
