Training courses for the ADA University

Within the framework of the EU grant “Support to Civil Service EU Trainings and Establishment of a Centre of Excellence in EU Matters in Azerbaijan”, the College of Europe has been delivering training for civil servants at the ADA University. Curricula development was undertaken and training courses have been organised in a variety of fields, and included ToT elements. The first training course was on “General EU Matters” and took place in December 2014. The training modules which took place this year – in January and February – focused on “EU Policies and Instruments, Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework Approach”, “Trade and Business”, and “Freedom, Security and Justice” within the multi-annual Institutional Reform Plans, and EU negotiations. The five training courses lasted a week each and took place in the premises of ADA University in Baku.

Two other training courses are in the pipelines. The first is on EU energy and environmental policy and the second on EU policies on IT and media. These will roll out in April this year.

With all these courses, the College of Europe is not only training civil servants, but it is also enabling them to deliver similar training modules themselves in order to guarantee the sustainability of the project.
